The major arcana cards have been reimagined as a "Hero's Journey" in place of the classic "Fool's Journey". Countless historic, ancient, and modern epics follow a curiously universal structure sometimes called the “Hero’s Journey.” Ephemere tells this timeless story of our willpower, struggles, failures, and how we pick up the pieces to continue onwards. Most reimagined major arcana cards retain strong parallels to traditional Rider Waite-Smith counterparts, though some will seem completely new. These reimagined majors are:

The booklet, co-written by Mat Auryn and Arthur Wang, will detail the similarities and differences between these new cards and the traditional RWS majors, as well as diving into the expanded storyline of the Hero’s Journey. The Minor Arcana cards still follow traditional Rider Waite-Smith symbolism and the classic 4 suits.

TRUEBLACK's story

TrueBlack is a tarot purposefully designed for unerring quality and unmatched attention to detail. Trained in the classic style by traditional oil painting academies, each card is illustrated by hand, with real human models, by Arthur Wang in his signature style. Every deck is then printed in the United States for the ultimate in production quality.

From a young age, Arthur was enamored and captivated by the study of the occult. Books of anthropological folklore, paranormal studies, and witchcraft throughout all ages and geographical locations filled his shelves, and from there, the marriage of the occult studies with his design background was an easy connection to make. He has since been working full-time in product design while creating True Black.

All designs, illustrations, logistics, photography, and production is handled by Arthur. I am actually writing in the 3rd person right now, and it's a little weird. 

TrueBlack is printed and packed in the Northeastern US, and every deck is painted, wrapped, boxed, and shipped by Arthur and his wife Ellie.
