Citadel Ring With Opal in Sterling Silver by Julian the 2nd

One of a kind sterling silver ring handmade by Julian the 2nd - SIZE 11

This piece was inspired by Brutalist architecture. This ring will be polished to a fine finish. This piece has been hand carved and cast in solid sterling silver. Each piece is hand finished with a blackened oxidation that is coated in a clear lacquer to preserve it for longer. Over time the oxidation will wear away in the highest points and stay darkest in the deeper recesses. This will make for a piece that evolves with its wearer over time.

Set with an opal cab, this piece has vivid color to contrast the oxidized metal. I wanted this piece to feel like something found in an ancient tomb. Perhaps from a futuristic civilization. 

 The band is sanded smooth to a 400 grit finish, oxidized and then some surface is removed for an antique look.
